Why Audio and not Video?
(Our most common question.)
Frankly, it's a bit of a brain/nature/sciency magicness thing.

You might think it’s about saving money or ease of production – but that’s not the case.
Our productions can be more expensive to produce than film.

Listening to an experience triggers imagined or recalled memories that draw you deeper into the experience. As you begin, you are directed to relax and close your eyes. When listening exclusively, you do not see the screen and therefore external imagery becomes moot - and that's where your Life Environments immersive experience begins. In addition to undermining immersive effectiveness, visual imagery is distracting in countless unhelpful ways – something you definitely do not want! Without imagery, you are free to explore beyond visual distraction and truly immerse yourself in nature's experience.

By adding beautiful nature scenes, the cognitive benefits provided by the theater of your mind are overridden. Think of it as diluting your senses. Visual scenes significantly inhibit your ability to achieve a meaningful state of mind required to achieve calm, stress inhibition and relaxation. In fact, the addition of external visuals inhibits your immersive and therapeutic benefit as much as 97%.

Finally, our audio experiences have a greater cognitive impact than traditional video. This enables your brain to perceive the audio experience as more “real,” whereas the video element of the experience is cognitively perceived as “filmed." These conflicting effects weaken the benefits of your immersive experience and your brain's response. Don’t want to close your eyes? No worries. Many of our customers use our experiences at work or when doing other things like meditating or yoga. The choice is yours!

So, there you have it. Now you know at least a few of the reasons most Life Environments immersive productions are produced in audio formats.
